I first hiked up Muddy Temple, then dropped into Pinto Valley to see some very old petroglyphs. From there I headed to East Hamblin. I had noticed this peak while doing other stuff out that way & it was nagging me that I hadn't been up there. I love all the other Hamblin peaks, so this was the day! I started up a ridge to the ESE. It was an easy, if steep & loose, walk up to the summit. The views were awesome! Couldn't believe I'd never been there. The peak ridge itself is pretty narrow & has huge jumbled boulders all over. I descended a ridge leading from the NE & dropped back into Pinto Valley. That ridge was a bit steeper & very loose with lots of scree skiing. Made my way to the old Jeep road & followed it back around Muddy Temple & continued back the way I came out Cottonwood Wash. A really great & pretty day! Trip stats are for both Muddy Temple & East Hamblin.
