Coming from Gardnerville, thought taking Desert Creek Rd to the trailhead would be fastest, but the road was pretty rocky with a few creek crossings. Drove a Subaru Forester and made it through cautiously. I'd never do it again. The hike began on a bad rocky road that ended in about .15 miles. No trail after that...all route finding with some bushwhacks and rocky climbs. Nothing real serious like the Sisters, but strongly advise pants, long-sleeve shirts, and gloves to get through the brush.
