My son, Marshall, and I visited Dakota Point during a summer trip in July of 2011 while we were trying to reach the 10 highest named summit points in Iowa. We were disappointed to discover that Dakota Point is not the name of a summit. Instead, it is the name of an overlook, so we removed it from our list of climbs and believe it should not be included as the 6th highest named summit in Iowa.
