Went up Friday evening after work for a quick hike up to icehouse saddle where we planned on camping. We left at around 4:40am on saturday morning for the summit. The hike wasn't too difficult from Ice House Saddle, even in the dark. Once on the actual mountain of Cucamonga Peak the switchbacks picked up a lot of elevation. We beat the sunrise to the summit and were treated with, quite possibly the most amazing views I've ever seen in my life. The sun coming over the San Bernardino Mountains and the layer of clouds over the valley made for an extremely secluded and serene setting.

We spent time photographing the sunrise and just relaxed. Being the only ones on Cucamonga Peak trail save for one that whole morning also made for a great experience of simply, "being away." I recommend doing this trail for an amazing sunrise. One that I probably won't ever forget. Just a few steps outside of our concrete jungle into the Cucamonga Wilderness of all places provides a place that reminds us, that our creator made nothing but masterpieces everywhere. Amazing hike!
