Solo. From Littlemill on the South Deeside Road west of Ballater. I walked on a track SW through a wood. At the end of the wood I left the track on a footpath (as shown on the map) continuing SW. This "path" is really a track although a fairly new kissing gate near the start would now stop vehicles using it. Near to the SSW corner of the wood that covers the upper part of Creag Ghiubhais I left the track and ascended NNE. At first it was on quite thick heather, but higher up on rock and stones. I found a narrow path that I followed; the final part of the ascent was through trees but with no path. The trees are well spaced and do not form part of a plantation. I reached the summit of Creag Ghiubhais. There is a small cairn at the summit. I descended more or less the same way. On reaching the track it began to rain although not heavily. Some thunder.
