From just after the hairpin by Colle Vaccara where the asphalt turns to gravel. Up the good track as far as the small pasture with its caged barking dogs and dozy cows. From here following the marked path up the small valley northwards to where there is a round reservoir of some 3 meters diameter. From here there is an obvious pass between the two small hills north of you and from here you see your object of desire. The path is very well marked, perhaps too much so as every meter or so there is a splodge of red paint. After dipping onto a grassy area, these take you to a refuge of sorts, but from here they lose a little of the enthusiasm as the ascent of Calvello begins. From the refuge one skirts to the right a little then ascends pretty much northwards. The hill has a dead feel to it, lots of dead dry trees and loose stones. Found the remains of a serious looking wasp nest. It does look, from the number of signs, that there is potentially a good route to Monte Acuto from here. Descended in same manner.
