"Got severely sunburnt on my back ascending Cradle! Met so many incredible people and together we all summited together. What began as a group of strangers ended as a group of friends. The views were phenomenal, never seen such nice weather for the hike before. " — annekerichards • Jan 1, 2022
"My summit was not as easy as some people's. When I was heading up the mountain about 100m from the top I tore a ligament. It made climbing down the mountain very hard and while it took me about 40 minutes to get up the mountain. It took me 2 hours to get down. I was lucky I had my father there to help me through it. In the end I got back down to the car park late but luckily I got some help and managed to make it out okay. My main takeaway was how nice most people are. So many people helped me on the way down and the journey may have been a lot harder without them." — Hiyouboots • Jan 12, 2021
"There are signs everywhere to do not attempt this hike while wet. It was drizzle that day and was our last day in Frencinet so we decided to try the climb anyway. It wasn't that hard, but when we were coming back was already sunny and most of the rocks were dry with some small streams of water falling. This little streams were so dangerous, I was so scary to come back as my shoes became extremely slippery while wet on dry Rocks. I end up taking them out and that was working great. I had my trainers on so if the weather isn't perfect I really recommend better shoes that that. Overall it is a bit difficult but Mt Beerwah or Tibrogargan in Glass House Mountains seems to be more difficult than Mt Amos. " — Asha • Jan 6, 2021
"What a great way to finish 2020. Absolutely beautiful hike, so many lakes on the way. Rock scrambling might be very dangerous while wet but luckily we had fantastic weather and the view from the top was just breathtaking. My favourite hike in 2020 no doubt! Took us about 7,5-8h entire loop through Marions lookout and come back through Dove Lake. " — Asha • Dec 31, 2020
"First chance to get back to this beautiful area in the Cradle Mountain National park.
Rain ☔️ Rain ☔️ Leeches - more rain - great climb for Aus 🇦🇺 day weekend.
Second go after an ambitious attempt in 2 days in Sept 2018 Heavy snow back then meant only one of us summited. This time we were better organised and planned for summer.
4 of us set out on the Saturday after lunch in pouring rain, reaching the new Pelion Hut late evening after multiple stops to get rid of leeches. (Tip: Hand sanitizer works a treat over a cigarette lighter!) Set up tents out on the landing area for campers. Had dinner and slept. Up early on Aus day, left tents and took day packs to summit. Up and back, the small summit marker took a while to find but as soon as we took our pics we were off back to the tent. Dinner in the hut again, sleep. A warmer day for the return back to
our cars." — Chefinthecity • Jan 26, 2020
