"Part of holiday based in Niederau, bus to Auffach, then up new lift to Krinjoch. A v hot day. From the top of the lift, and easy ascent of 300m to the popular Schatzberg summit. From here we continued along the ridge to the summit of Hahnkopf, then descended steeply to a small lake. Here we left the main track & continued over a small summit and then walked to the steep summit of Joelspitz 1964m. After a short break we continued SE and dropped to another col, then up the steep sided Saupanzen 1956m, then dropping again before the long ascent to the summit of Lampersberg 2202m. Here we enjoyed good views, before hurrying back the same way to avoid missing the last lift down." — davidlong • Jul 18, 2018
"Another hot summers day in Alpbach. We climbed directly up from the road near Alpbach Village. At first it was through meadows, then steeply up through woodland and then a gravel path up between the crags led onto the summit ridge. Here there were good views all around, to the Zillertal peaks to the south and across the Inn valley to the Rofan and Brandenberg alps to th north. We explored the ridge, then descended east from the ridge and s e to to Dorfewinkel and returned through the grassy meadows to Alpbach" — davidlong • Jul 4, 2006
"A hot sunny day, set off from Alpbach went up the lift to Hornboden, then up the track, past the Wiederberger Horn and Hochstand, to some small lakes. From there the path goes up very steeply and care is needed. The traverse along the ridge from the Standkopf to the Gamskopf is on a very narrow path with steep drops, where also care is needed." — davidlong • Jul 3, 2006
"The 1st day of a very hot walking week based in Alpbach. We walked up to the summit, we then walked along the ridge, over the Hochstand to some small lakes under the Standkopf On the return, to save knees, we took the lift down from the lift station at 1800m" — davidlong • Jul 2, 2006
