Thank you it was a great climb! We all met in town at 5:30 am, dropped one car at the bridge heading towards the unofficial Lake Victoria TH and then got to the 8 Mile TH and started hiking just a little after 6:00 am. We summited at around 12:30 plus or minus a half hour. We spent a good hour on the little flat place right under the final bit of rock to the summit that you can see Luke and I climbing on the picture on the bottom left. We didn't bring any ropes and we never felt like we needed them. I highly recommend dropping down to Windy Lake! It was one of the highlights of the day because the meadows surrounding the lake were full of wild flowers that seemed, to our surprise, at their peak. The little waterfalls and creeks meandering through the meadows, plus the views of the peaks surrounding the lake and the ranges in the distant made it an amazing stop. Our ambitious route on the somewhat made trail down Doctor Creek was hit and miss at best. We would be on trail for 5 minutes and then loose it for 15 minutes and then find it again. We repeated this cycle for I don't know how long (over an hour at least) until we met up with an old road that switched back down to the bridge. Once we fought through the brush down to the old road we thought we would make fast time back to the car; except for the fact that the grade of that road is practically flat which really took a long time to come down. All said and done I think we were at around 21-23 miles and got back to the car around 8ish, about a half hour later and we would have needed to turn the head lamps on. Sorry it's not super precise about the times but somewhere from about 6:15am till about probably 7:45 or 8pm.
