By train and bus to Peebles. Solo. Followed John Buchan Way S and SW. Left JBW to ascend hillside to gate at NT239381. Followed well made path to summit of Cademuir Hill. There's a picnic table beside the summit cairn. Excellent views, especially of snow-covered hills to W and S. Returned to gate and followed paths to summit of Cademuir Fort. Returned to Peebles on JBW. Dry and bright. Altogether an enjoyable walk.
