Beautiful Christmas day in my region, sunny and windless. Today I am heading to the Sierra Espuña Natural Park to climb the Cabezo del Campanario. I begin my route through the bush and I stumble upon the first wild boar that was resting in the bush, half a mile later I surprise another and I am lucky that they both move away. Just in case, I look out of the corner of my eye where to climb and whistle from time to time as I continue towards the peak. As I approach the top, a flock of partridges suddenly takes flight, waiting until I am a few meters away. I notice that these spring temperatures make the animals quite active. This is confirmed by some mountain goats that I see when returning along the path and that look at me with distrust.
The Sun is descending and silence ends up enveloping these forests that today I have been able to enjoy almost in solitude.
