This round-trip is usually made in the other direction (mostly because of the scrambling at the end of the Wolfsschlucht), but I found it to be very feasible in this direction as well. Very hot day, but beautiful views. We met quite a few people on the ridge who did not seem well-prepared for this environment, though.
