The trail was snow covered above 2000m. The snow was supportive so I continued up. To go past the Walter lake trail junction would of led into avalanche terrain. The walls up to the ridge were steep and their were many cornices all along the top. I angle climbers right up a south facing slope that was mainly snow free. Once up the slope I was on a ridge that led to the only reasonable place to gain summit ridge. To gain the summit ridge it was only one short steep snow covered section. I easily kicked step up onto the ridge then walked over to the summit.
