Yesterday we went for a stroll up Black Brett, a peak between Mount Bourgeau & Brett in the Banff area. The scrambling wasn't spectacular but the area is very picturesque, with numerous lakes, tarns & marmots keeping us amused. The approach trail was excellent, with plenty of shade and it took us most of the way to Harvey pass before we cut across the bowl to grind up to the col and summit of Black Brett with some moderate scrambling along the way. On descent, we follow the ridge down to Harvey pass for a cool off in the tarn. The trail and parking lot was very busy, so if you plan to go to this area it's a good idea to go early.
