We parked in the small car park at the beginning of the track to Lone. A short hike south on the A 838 brought us to a track to some aerials. From there the ascent, steep in parts, up the south-east ridge (Leathad na Stioma) brought us onto a minor top (Pt. 551m). A short drop to a wide bealach followed, and a hard pull to the summit cairn on a narrow ridge just beyond a transmitter station. We returned by our route of ascent, after visiting the trig point on a separate, somewhat lower, ridge. The descent proved trickier than the ascent, as the waterlogged ground made every step treacherous. With JK, NP and KM. A day of heavy showers with little sunshine, driven in on a fierce north-west wind.
