This peak is part of the Ben Loyal range, where it is possible to walk over 5 peaks in one long day, starting and finishing at sea level.
After several wet low cloud days, it cleared for us to walk the peaks of Ben Loyal. Walked past Ribigill farm across boggy moorland, a river crossing and a derelict croft before the ascent. V wet underfoot, but great views of the north coast of Scotland and Orkney islands. From the summit of the 1st peak, continued S over the next 4 peaks including An Caisteal to Beinn Bheag and Carn an Tionail where we descended W around pt568 back to the valley and a long boggy trek back to the river crossing.
