Brilliant weather considering the downpour in the early hours. I ascended Barrow from Braithwaite Lodge and walked over Stile End and into some boggy ground. I then made my way onto a better path and onto High Moss so I could ascended Outerside from the south west having deciding against venturing to Causey Pike due to dwindling hours of daylight. Maybe a bad idea as the ground I crossed was fairly boggy and horrible. Up to the summit next for a quick sammich in the howling wind followed by a slow descent into the same bog that I had encountered earlier. Back onto Stile end where I then descended to the north easy. Yet another crap idea as I nearly ended up doing it on my a**e. I then walked back down the hill to where I was treat to a magnificent double rainbow which framed the Skiddaw range. Then onto the pub just in time for sundown. Notable shoutouts to Brendon for the craic on the first hill and also the older couple with the wellies who helped guide me across the bog.
