Ten of us met in the Rider Hollow PA to hike a loop of Balsam for Steve’s final peak, #840, of his second Catskill Grid. Our summit celebration included home-made Korean pancakes, home-made chocolate chip cookies, chocolate, two watermelons and two bottles of champagne. With the recent rainy weather some of the water crossings provided a challenge in crossing and keeping our feet dry in the process. Fortunately not a drop of rain fell, despite a cloudy sky, allowing for an enjoyable day that was actually a bit cool compared to the last couple of months of heat/humidity.
