I had a small window of free time and managed to squeeze this hill in. My brother and I met up with my buddy, who had just done St. Paddy's Peak, and planned to hit some others near Baldy, but due to time constraints we only joined him for Baldy.

The three of us started out on the road from the trailhead and quickly came across a trail heading uphill away from the road. We took the trail until we came out on another road at a junction under the powerlines. We took the road heading west from there but again quickly came across a trail heading uphill away from the road. We followed this trail until it turned into more of a game trail and finally just a bushwack until we hit a good trail again. This trail soon brought us to another road which we followed for just a bit before heading uphill to our right on our final trail to the summit.

The summit is bald, so I suppose the name is appropriate. The area is wide open and fairly flat. The summit itself is a large chunk of rock partially covered in moss. It provides nice views of the surrounding valley and foothills, including Pinnacle Peak.

On the way down we tried taking the Hummingbird trail, which was signed and leaving the road heading downhill in the right direction. We hoped it would connect back with the trail we took on the way up somewhere before we lost the trail, but this wasn't the case. We passed quite a few trails on the sections of road we walked. There's a much more extensive network of roads and trails on this hill than I expected. Not a bad stroll in through the woods, and we didn't even get rained on.
