Parked of the A686 at NY 74109 51043 near the county boundary. Entered the moor by a kissing gate, following the fence on the Northumbrian side NW to a stile. Then made a bee-line for the summit through Hope Cleuch - not recommended due to bogs. After Pike Rigg, followed the wall and fence SW then south on tracks. Then ATV tracks and pathless walking SW over the two tops of Ayle Common. Returned east along the fence line to join my outward route. Solo. Watch out for hidden bogs - I fell in a deep one on Willyshaw Rig and had some difficulty extracting myself.
