I have climbed Antelope Peak about a dozen times. Each time has been enjoyably different and a great climb. There are no trails so each climb is different and none can be described as easy. My hardest started with a cross desert hike from the old Vekol Ranch, which added an unnecessarily long walk. The best approach is past the corral and windmill on the northeast side, easily acessabile from a gate on Interstate 8. Look for the County border sign a couple miles East of the Vekol Road exit on I8 Eastbound. Make life easy for yourself and have the TOPO with you. The last parking opportunity is about a mile past the wind pump and is flat for comfortable tent and RV camping. An ordinary car should be able to do this trip. This is not just a "hike". There is no trail. Be ready to hop from rock to rock and stow your hiking stick for some "both hands necessary scrabbling". The view from the top is nice but not really the point of the climb. It's pretty flat on top if you want to camp there. Have a thick ground pad as it's a bit lumpy for good sleep. I never tire of this hill! I have done Table Top several times, and it's a bit more of a vertical challenge, but it's still a trail and not the challenge Antelope offers.
