Intense route today with my son who came to see me in Riopar, a total of about 10 miles and 2300 feet of unevenness from the Zapateros reservoir, a continuous climb up to Pico Almenarilla and from there along the ridge to Pico Almenara, the section of ridge of mile and a half is very rocky, hard to follow anything resembling a trail. However, the surprise is near the Almenara peak, the walls are very vertical and you have to climb with little margin of error, there are 350 feet of rock left and it is better not to look down. Hot day, at the top we shared anecdotes with other climbers. We have decided to descend through the Portillo de Manolo (mountain pass) descending (almost skiing on leaves) through a maple forest with slopes of almost 50 percent.
Truly mountain in its purest form, but only for people with mountain experience and in good physical shape.
