Six weeks. Yes, six weeks tethered to my desk, being sucked dry like a cow in an industrial milking stall. Finally escaped to climb this modest South Down hill, dragging my cement legs and office trench foot hooves with me. Took bridleway from north Jevington, made way up beech tree shaded chalky path scented with wild garlic before meeting the South Downs way on the more exposed hill with newly sheared sheep and grass swishing in a steady breeze. Then took in the hill to the South West before returning sweaty and tinted by the sun to Jevington.
