Did a daytrip hike on the 23rd of October. Lots and lots of snow. Started the trek up early around 2am, took my time and made it near the top at sunrise. VERY cold with the windchill factored in. Conditions were very icy and since I didn't have crampons at the time I decided to turn back before reaching the summit.

Be careful at night as the trails (with snow) can be hard to follow. Take extra care to know exactly where you're going as it is very easy to get off trail if you don't have a map or knowledge of the area. Snow shoes and crampons are essential this late in the season! I would also recommend an ice axe.

There are some great plain areas and a scenic stream to the right of the main trail heading up toward the mountain. A little rocky but nothing extremely difficult. When I went I was the only person there, so if something were to go wrong, sort of SOL. Take care to bring precautions if necessary. All 'n' all a great hike! Beautiful views and an amazing experience. I personally did not feel any effects from altitude sickness at this height, but keep in mind you might if you haven't been at 14,000 feet before (especially if you are coming from sea level like myself).
