"4/8/24: Sam and I started from Halona Beach and took the path along the Koko Arch lower ridge after crossing the road at the bridge. The scaling of Koko Arch was pretty straightforward (C3 slab) but would be pretty sketchy coming down when wet. Sam decided to turn back and pick me up at Koko Head Park. The best stretch other than the crater ridge section was the ancient steps to the ridge. The railway tracks on the descent really sucked and my knees hate me. (2/920/1310)" — LoneWolf • Apr 8, 2024
"4/7/24: Mokoli’i Hawaii style! We got out to Kualoa Point way too late in the afternoon and I had given up on Mokoli’i until next time, so I decided to just play around on the SUP and drink some Big Wave and chill. But a curious thing happened: I just kept paddling. Once I had made it about half way out (20-30 min into the heaviest surf), I knew I could make it at least out that far and it would only be a quarter of the total time getting back. After accomplishing that, I was just as confident that I could make it to landfall at the micro-beach/landing area on the west side. I contemplated the summit attempt while getting a good stretch on and appreciating dry land again. Since I hadn’t planned on actually do this, I had nothing with me but the board shorts I was wearing so it would have to be a Hawaii style attempt. Fortunately it was all pretty smooth sailing to the top and no crazy jagged lava rock! I was able to even hang at the summit for a good 10 min or so before it was really obvious that the sun was now getting close to the ridge line. It only took about 15 min paddling back and I ended up getting that Big Wave for sunset anyway!" — LoneWolf • Apr 7, 2024
"4/4/24: Slick and muddy the first half but got better on the ridge. Sam and I checked out the first pillbox before hanging out at the second group for some time. The overlook of the entire bay is quite impressive and easily a Top 5 Hawaii scene for myself. (2.6/530)" — LoneWolf • Apr 4, 2024
"Sea to Summit the hard way!
What a great way to finish 2023. This could be a cool FKT route. It has some fun climbing, scrambling, route finding, obstacles and bushwhacking, whatever a real Hawaii adventure needs. Great outing with Takashi and Stacy🤙🏻" — nandorszotak • Dec 30, 2023
