As far as I can determine, Twin Hills is the 9th highest named summit in Kansas, but it is not obvious whether the west or east hill is higher, so my son, Marshall, and I climbed both of them, which required crossing a barbed wire fence just after leaving the road. There is a house directly across the road here and we asked permission to climb. A man in the house told us he did not own the property, but it didn't bother him if we did. He said the landowner lived southeast about 3 miles away. My son and I made a quick ascent of both hills through some short but nasty thorny vegetation. Both summits offer views of the Kansas prairie in all directions.
