After completing the Whitaker Peak hike, I drove 2 miles down the road to get the hike to Townsend Peak in. Despite being so close, this trail was grassier and had many blooming flowers (nothing like that on the other hike). Before ascending Townsend, I went up another nearby peak first, which was another half mile down the trail. I then backtracked to Townsend. There is a short overgrown use trail to the top. Nice views from the top and a rather relaxing hike.
