Hiked Appalachian Trail from Blue Ridge Road to Springer Mountain peak solely to take photos from the iconic overlook because it was clouded over the only other time I was atop Springer. Returned on the AT to the southern terminus of the Benton MacKaye Trail and hiked the BMT to Ball Mountain, then hiked a side trail near the peak, then bushwhacked off trail to peak. Forgot to stop the GPS/GPX recording when I got back to the parking lot, but it should be about 4.5 miles.
