This route includes the crossing of the amazing Cirque de Mourèze. The views over the Lac du Salagou from the first two tops are stunning. The highpoint of the second one (Sommet de Lousses, 511m) is a small rocky outcrop on the ridge which requires a quick scramble. Worth the detour as it the rocks rise high enough above the forestry to offer a 360° panorama. Best season is obviously April to June as to enjoy the variety of wild flowers, including several species of orchids.
