An adventurous but worthwhile side trip near the Klahowya Campground. Took Snider-Jackson Trail from the campground to US 101, crossed the Sol Duc, then took West Snider Road around a third of a mile up to the fish pen, where a faint trail takes off across a small meadow to the left, which follows an old road along the north side of the hill. After about 0.2 miles up this old road, at a point just east of true north from the summit, a very faint footpath heads straight up the mountain to the left, which I marked with cairns for the next insane individual who wants to try this. Once you get to the true summit, you can head due south for around 200 feet to a pretty viewpoint with some good views, where the photo attached was taken. Do not attempt if you are not a very experienced route finder. Overall rating 6/10, an interesting way to spend a couple hours if camped at the Klahowya Campground
