Tom, Richard, Susan and I traversed the Burroughs range from Slide mountain TH to Woodland Valley. We encountered stretches of old but solid ice on our way up Slide that will most likely stick around well into the month of May. We also encountered plenty of blowdown from recent wind storms, maintainers will be busy when they get out there. Two of us wished we had packed our silky saws to do some preliminary trimming/removal to keep folks on the trail.
