This is an accidental climb, resulting from the search of a descent route from the summit of Mount Silay to the northeast. Our party was negotiating down from the upper-most basin of Sicaba-Wala River below the north side of Silay summit when our party was forced to abandon trekking down the river. An 800-foot waterfall proved an insurmountable stumbling block. We climbed up the crest of Bakiras Ridge that leads to the Southwest Ridge.
