I wouldn't normally log this route; I always thought the road route looked tedious. But then came snow. While breaking trail on the upper road was a bit more enervating, where snow drifts were up to 18", the views were magical. The mountain will likely see up to 6" more snow in the next few days, so it you go soon, pay attention to your footwear-- gaiters, even low-gaiters, will keep snow from filtering into your boots. I wore light insulated and breathable boots.
