During our annual vacation in Liechtenstein we decided to try and summit the Plasteikopf, one of a few summits we had not yet visited.
Since we rented a house in Malbun we started from there. Another start may be from Steg and walking through the Valuna Tal.
From Malbun you first go up to the crossing of the ridge called Täli. It is the same route as going to the Pfäelzer Hütte. At a certain point you don't follow the path to the Pfäelzer Hütte but you turn right towards Ijesfürggli. When you reach the bottom of the path to Ijesfürggli you have to keep right and from there basically find your own route. We decided to climb as high as possible on the left side of the Plasteikopf, then traverse under the summit to the right and climb up the rocks to the Plasteikopf ridge. It's wise to wear gloves when you make that final climb and also be aware of loose rocks...! On the ridge you first arrive at a little green field, relatively flat. To reach the real summit you have to pass that ridge on the left side, about 2 meters lower. There is some sort of path. Follow it and you will soon see the real summit.. There is no cross.. just a pile of rocks.
