Very hot day in our region, I pick up a friend and we head to the Sierra de Burete in Bullas. We begin the route on a track in good condition that gradually ascends in a northeasterly direction towards our objective, Pico del Aguila, about three miles away. The top is like a plateau with abundant vegetation, where we see the ground disturbed by wild boars, an eagle flies over us at full speed without barely moving its wings. We had lunch and rested in the shade, waiting for the sun to go down a bit, but the descent became more difficult due to the high temperature and a sudden pain in my friend's knee. You have to stop every quarter mile and never seem to get there. A little later, on our way back, we stop at some vineyards and pick a bunch of red grapes, which is the best we've tasted in many years.
