"I'm a local but it was the first time I climbed the mountain. The trail was well established as it was a PNOC site, the climbed was not so technical, along the trail were lots of coconut trees as it is abundant in Leyte. Flora and fauna are everywhere once you've entered the mossy forest. Make sure to climb with someone who've been there, chances are you might get lost if you just keep on following the trail made for PNOC operations. It's best to climb during dry season, as it could get slippery in the forested area. You can camp in PNOC guard house, along the trail or even at the lakeside itself where 2-3 tents are possible. You can go side trip to Anahawan hotspring which is within proximity. At the summit you'll definitely enjoy the cold water as you immerse just be careful though the water is deep, you can also go fishing, just bring your equipment!" — vinamantilla • Mar 30, 2014
"We had an overnight climb...Night trekking with our full load and setting camp at the summit. During descent, we were hit by a typhoon so we've decided to stay at Lake Danao..." — buladluoy • May 6, 2011
