A gnarly, steep climb up to Angel's Rest and beyond. This was part of an 18-mile day of hiking and trail-running. Along the climb to Angel's Rest, there was a father with boys who were obviously wearing church clothing. The father was in shirt, tie, and pants. He was also packing heat. Amongst the strange clothing, none of the four "hikers" had water. I was sucking down my hydration pack on the way up. It was a brilliantly cool autumn day, but this climb is a bear. The view of the ancient river and mountains was incredible. The views were phenomenal beyond as I summitted Pearis Mountain.
