I first attempted the other notable highpoint just west of this one, but didn't want to risk the climb I would have to make. I came over to the east side of this peak, where there was more of a ramp, and started up, dodging a lot of cholla along the way. This route has a cliff on the north side, but is relatively safe, and it lead to a little highpoint. From there I went down into a little canyon and determined that there would probably be a route up. There was about an 8-10 foot wall, with some hand and footholds, but also loose rock. I broke a few pieces off testing things out, but finally determined how I could make it up. I made it up with no rocks breaking, and made my way to the summit. The sky was really clear, and I could even make out Mt. Wrightson, south of Tucson. I explored a little for another route down, but determined the way I came up was the best. I looped a rope over the base of a bush above the wall, and used it to help me down, and then traced my route back. Walking below the cliffs of these two peaks was really neat, as well as the climb of this one.
