Lower portion of the Owls Head Trail is in terrible shape. Mud, mud, and more mud with poor maintenance of old log bridges and few efforts to make it passable. Very strange day... not terribly hot but a difficult breathing day with the humidity. Very heavy breathing. Upper portion of the trail very nice and the summit views towards the Presidentials was spectacular!
