Difficulty: Grade 3/4 (couple of very steep sections but chained)
Description:
Knocked over Mt Warning as part of Lads 2012. Left Ballina early and grabbed HJs on the way to Warning. Car parking was a nightmare as it was public holiday. Very busy on the mountain with quite a few waits (especially on the chain). Paths were good and well worn and the observation area on the top was very impressive. (How the hell did they get that steel up there). Scoffed our Subways at the top, took a photo (with Daz doing his best humpback impression), then ran significant portions of the track on the way back down. Glen Hendry stunt driver got bogged, but after only 30 or 40 mins realised that the handbrake was on and we were on our way. Overall impression was pretty easy climb, very nice rainforest woodland, very well setup observation area with brilliant views to the ocean and other mountains.
