I climbed this peak on the first day of a 3-day backpack from camp at Bishop Lake. Even though it was 105 degrees in Bishop, there was still lots of snow on the SE slope. I made a diagonal ascent up the snow to the summit ridge, then over to the summit. There was still a 10ft-thick slab of consolidated snow on the ridge that you could see from Long Lake to the north.
