The walk up this is relatively simple from Carpineto. A nice gradual rise up a ravine in beech wood to flatter area from which this, as the neighbouring peaks can be reached.
A word on the peak and name. For most the point of interest here is Croce di Capreo, a large steel cross on a monumental style plinth which houses a shrine of sorts. This point is at 1421-1430m alt on the NW side of the hill. The point where this is on the map is indeed the highest point of this ridge, at 1471. However, this latter is not named as Monte Capreo on our map, but it seems logical it should be called this. Only on my return did I see that the hill to the west is named - Monte Caprea (with an a) at 1430m. This I did not climb but would have because it was a mere hop in the grand scheme of things.
