Tackled Molarstone peak on my two night 3 day trip up through North molar pass. Spent the first night at the mosquito campground, packed up and headed up North molar pass. From there I ditched the pack and went up Molarstone peak before coming down to Fish lakes for the next night. We hiked back to the car from there. AMAZING hike. Probably the best meadows I have ever walked through. The peak itself is good to go. I ended up ascending Molarstone a little early from the pass. I should have went along the pass a little further before starting the ascent, would have been a bit less loose. Though most of the ascent is rather unpleasant from the pass to the peak, it can be done quickly, I went to the summit and back in about an hour and a half or something like that. It is ABSOLUTELY worth the slog though. Some of the best views I have ever had. Next time I do this mountain, taking the ridge would likely be far more enjoyable.
