At the lake on the route down from Ben Nevis I cut across and went steeply up a grassy slope - probably more taxing than anything on the main peak - to a saddle between the two high points, there being no obvious path. Went east along ridge to the cairn, added to it with the very brittle compacted gravel-like rocks that glisten with quartz, then headed back west to the other high point. Had intended to short cut down via the crags on the north side, but it looked too risky, so rejoined tourist path for a long meandering walk down.
