From my peakbagger.com post...I followed the suggestion of previous hiker & bushwhacked to the summit from the Memorial Falls trail. I picked my way through downed timber, an old forest fire burn, & scree field to reach the windy summit. A cairn, seemingly, marked the high point, but further up the ridge was a higher point, so I did not want to take the chance of missing the high point of Cascade County, Montana, & traversed the scree field to the higher spot. Instead of going back down to the Memorial Falls trailhead, I went down the next drainage, Palisade Creek, which lead to the enterance of Many Pines campground. I walked the highway back to the Memorial Falls trailhead parking lot. It was an awesome walkabout!
