"Hiked up the fire road to reach Lawson Peak. The trail is easy to follow, but does get fairly technical at the top. After descending from Lawson we headed to Gaskill Peak. The trail is extremely overgrown and impossible to follow at times." — jakeshurer • May 12, 2019
"Second summit of the day. The summit area on this peak is awesome. Lots of nooks, crannies, and caves to explore. There are also anchor bolts placed above several short, but interesting rock climbing routes. Today, we rappelled from the anchors on the south-east corner of the summit boulder pile. Good fun! So hot!" — benjineer • Jun 13, 2015
"We probably made this hike harder than it needed to be. We started in the middle of a rainstorm. We needed a compass to even find it because visibility was so bad. When we finally made it to the summit block, we just climbed straight up it, instead of actually looking for the "best" way. On the way down we whacked bushes, did a sketchy improvised rappel, and generally got soaking wet. Also, we had one pair of gloves between us, so we swapped left and right hands back and forth when our fingers got numb. Yeah, it was fun. I'll be back again to try some of the rock climbing and rappelling options, for sure. Also, the jeep trail (Carveacre Road) is extremely rough. At a normal walking speed, we overtook and passed a jeep that started 10 minutes before us." — benjineer • Feb 22, 2015
