6-8" of fresh powder and trail hadn't been used in a while made this a challenging and special hike. Trees were weighted down with fresh powder forming an overhead canopy. At the top, there are ice falls from the summit cliff that form a tunnel leading out to the overlook. This is on the Long Trail and has white blazes (very hard to follow in the winter with snow stuck to the side of the trees). HIGHLY Recommend this hike. Ascent 2 hours with unbroken trail and some confusion about direction of trail. Descent about 1 hr.
