After being distracted by canyons and coastlines the past two weekends I decided it was high time for another summit. Headed up from Kahili Mt. School through some pretty thick fern grottos. Saw tons of lizard and a Hawaiian owl, a Pueo, was circling only 30 feet over my head! Great views at the "summit" (almost no prominence, just a clearing along the ridgeline up Kahili. I briefly considered continuing up to Kahili but based on Bob Burd's trip report, the class 4 bushwack sounded like a horrible way to spend an afternoon so I headed down and went snorkeling at Lygate the rest of the day.
