Botanical expedition to Iran in company of Mostafa Assadi (Botanical Institute of Iran), Tony Miller (Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh) and Prue Lee (John's girlfriend). We camped at c. 3000 m beside a grove of willow trees and ascended by the north-west ridge, an easy stroll apart from the effects of the altitude. We descended by sliding down the snow-patch (corrie glacier?).
