The projected 2 hour 45 min drive ended up taking only 1 hour 45 min. Almost ran over a skunk. Saw two foxes and some spooky cows on the drive.
We took a direct route up Indian Head; perhaps 5.4. Then a long slog up to Kern. Felt slow but we beat Rafee and AJs times. I guess they aren’t so fast after all. Finished the hike strong, powering up the final 600 feet to the trailhead.
Lots of meadows. River Spring was awesome. The view of the Kaweah Range was unmatched.
